If you want to improve your family’s health, then you should look to the world of technology for solutions. Here are some of the smart ways you can use technology to improve the health of your family.

1. Air Filters
The air quality in many places in the world is steadily going downhill. If your family lives in a city, then you owe it to them to install a high-quality HEPA air filter in your home. This will help to prevent your family from suffering from airborne allergies. An air filter will also help to reduce symptoms in asthma sufferers as well as many other respiratory difficulties.

2. Pain Relief
There is no need for you to watch a member of your family suffer from unbearable pain. There are many technological methods you can use to reduce and even eliminate pain. One of the best is Class IV laser treatment. This is a painless method of treatment that shoots a high-powered laser at an injured area of the body to encourage rapid healing and provide pain relief.

3. Imaging Scans
It is incredible how much more sophisticated medical imaging has become over the last few decades. Doctors can now get amazingly detailed pictures of structures inside the human body, and they can use these pictures to diagnose problems and treat diseases more effectively than ever before.

4. Stem Cell Treatments
The use of stem cell technology has been one of the most exciting medical advances of the last decade. Stems cell treatments are being used to help everyone from cancer sufferers to patients with heart disease. When other conventional treatments have failed, stem cell treatments may be a lifeline for a family member who is seriously ill.

5. Infrared Sauna
A steam room can be dangerous, and a traditional sauna can be quite pricy to install in your home. An infrared sauna is a portable device that can quickly create a sauna inside any enclosed space. This is a great treatment for people with muscle aches and pains, and saunas also offer a very relaxing experience that lowers stress.

There is no need to worry about your family’s health with all of the amazing technological developments that are constantly being announced. When you have a family member who is injured or ill, you should look to the benefits of technology to heal them.

Top 5 Most Extravagant Home Swimming Poolshttp://www.quickeasyfit.com/top-5-most-extravagant-home-swimming-pools/ http://www.quickeasyfit.com/top-5-most-extravagant-home-swimming-pools/#comments Thu, 14 Nov 2013 12:55:17 +0000 http://www.quickeasyfit.com/?p=6078 You would think that the most extravagant home swimming pools belong to famous celebrities we see in entertainment news and magazines every day. While it’s true that many celebrities are known for their lavish homes and elaborate pools, some of the most extravagant pools in the country belong to folks you may never have heard of. The following top five luxury pools are not your ordinary backyard pools, to say the least, and you’d be wise to take up professional swimming lessons before venturing into any of them.

1. Kitchukov Pool

The Kitchukovs are a wealthy Arizona family whose pool is about the size of a city block. The grandness of the pool is rather necessary to accommodate all its bells and whistles, which include waterfalls, fountains and a waterslide. There’s some fancy technology at work here, as the temperature and lighting can be remotely controlled by any device with online access. This majestic pool, full of twists and turns, is surrounded by lush palm trees, a mini golf course and a skate park.

2. Fluer de Lys

This exotically named classy Beverly Hills estate belongs to a celebrity couple you might know; entertainers Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. The French-styled home boasts a “magnifique” rectangular pool 70 feet long. Statuesque columns, poolside lounges and manicured shrubs overlook the inviting blue water. The elegant white steps leading up to the pool no doubt serves to build up anticipation. The extravagant set up includes two pool houses, one a kitchen and the other a gym.

3. Aqua Liana

If the name sounds beautiful and flowing, then it is the perfect description of this water-themed Florida home, whose name means “water flower” in Tahitian. Its Polynesian-inspired main pool is a central feature among other water attractions, which include a glass water floor, waterfall, hot tub and aquarium. A couple of the pool’s unusual aspects include submerged windows and eye-catching LED lights.

4. Gerald Ford Mansion

In this most expensive Dallas, Texas home lays a regal indoor pool whose cool blue water reflects the ornate crystal chandeliers that balance above it. Decorative light fixtures hang on the walls, which are impressively decorated with blue tile. Matching blue lounge sofas sit invitingly at the pool’s edge.

5. Ross Pool

Brian Ross and his wife, Kim, have a stunning indoor pool at their home in Ohio that might be mistaken for a jungle, which is exactly the point. The pool area sits under a clear glass roof that allows sunlight to reach through the wooden beams that support it. Strategically placed palms, a pool cave, waterslide and waterfalls complete the jungle effect.

Five Ideas for Creating Lasting Family Memories Todayhttp://www.quickeasyfit.com/five-ideas-for-creating-lasting-family-memories-today/ http://www.quickeasyfit.com/five-ideas-for-creating-lasting-family-memories-today/#comments Thu, 07 Nov 2013 06:12:16 +0000 http://www.quickeasyfit.com/?p=6057 Think back on your childhood and adolescent years. What memories come to mind first? You’re sure to remember the “big” moments, such as your surprise trip to Disney World or your dad showing up with your first pony. Chances are, you’ll likely recall many of the everyday moments as well. Creating lasting family memories is one of the most important things you can do for your children. They will catalog a wide range of family moments so they need not all be grand, but they should be meaningful. The following are five ideas to help you and your loved ones create memories that will last a lifetime.

Family Photo Album

Get everyone together on a rainy day and go through all of your family photographs. Dig through the attic to find any photos of generations past to include in your album. The photos alone will provide plenty of opportunity for laughs and storytelling. For high-quality photo albums that will last the wear and tear of repeated use, check out RusticoLeather.com.

Family Memory Book

Along the same lines as the photo album, start a new family tradition by creating a family memory book. Use the book to record any special moments your family shares. A collection of leather notebooks would work well to record the memories. The books will one day tell the story of your family and ensure your special times are never forgotten.

Make It a Ritual

Every family needs their own special night; be it movie night, pizza night, or game night. These ideas are not new but kids love them all the same. Letting your children dictate the events of the night will make them that much more invested. While your children may not always remember specific occasions very often, having family established family traditions will allow them to remember the feeling of togetherness clearly.

Holiday Traditions

Holidays provide the perfect opportunity to create lasting family memories. That means all holidays, not just those that fall in the month of December. Think of something outside the box. Why not play hookey every Columbus Day and hop in the car for a day trip? Create traditions unique to your family and decades from now, your children will brag about them.

Surprise!

Every child loves a good surprise. At least once in their lifetime, shock them with something big. Maybe a last minute trip on Christmas morning, or the puppy you swore they could never have. You can be certain they’ll remember the moment for the rest of their lives.

Memories are powerful. Later in life, they become precious commodities. Make the best of the years you have with your family at home by creating memories that will last forever.

5 Items That Will Keep Your Family Protected on the Roadhttp://www.quickeasyfit.com/5-items-that-will-keep-your-family-protected-on-the-road/ http://www.quickeasyfit.com/5-items-that-will-keep-your-family-protected-on-the-road/#comments Mon, 04 Nov 2013 04:23:56 +0000 http://www.quickeasyfit.com/?p=6053 When going on a road trip, whether it is cross country or just a few hours away, there are a couple essential items that should never be left behind. These items include a GPS for navigating effectively, a safe stash of snacks, food and plenty of water in case of emergency, essential toiletry items such as toilet tissue and hand sanitizer, at least one blanket per person in the car, and a good set of tires for the vehicle.

Global Positioning System

A GPS, or Global Positioning System, should never be left at home when going on a road trip. Even if the road trip is just to a spot an hour or so away, a GPS can be essential in getting there safely and effectively. A GPS works in a manner that tells one the current location they are at while also giving effective directions to get to their final destination. With today’s modern technology, a GPS can help navigate around traffic jams and road construction.

Stash of Snacks, Food, and Water

A good sized stash of snacks, good food and water is essential for road trips. One never would want to get stuck on the side of the road without food and water in case of an emergency. Non-perishable foods should be fully stocked along with bottles of water just in case an emergency does come up, especially in times where travels through extreme climate temperatures will be made.

Essential Toiletry Items

When traveling on an interstate, rest stops are often easy to find. However, if nature calls when a rest stop is not available or not properly stocked with toilet tissue and soap to wash hands with, individuals should be prepared. By packing a roll of toilet tissue and a small bottle of hand sanitizer, travelers can be prepared to take care of business no matter what the situation.

A Blanket Per Person

When traveling on any road trip, a blanket per person in the vehicle should be packed. These blankets can be used to keep warm in case of an emergency where help is not immediately available. Blankets are an essential survival piece especially at night or when traveling through very cold climates.

A Good Set of Tires

Before setting off on a road trip, a good set of tires is a necessity on the vehicle that will be traveling. Many people are injured every year when they encounter an unexpected car repair. When tires are new and in good shape the odds that blowouts of flat tires will happen are drastically decreased.

A GPS, food, toiletry essentials, blankets and tires are just a couple of many travel necessities. http://simpletire.com/ is a great site to get any traveler set up with good tires for a road trip. When going on a road trip, it is imperative to be properly prepared to ensure safe and fun travels.

Protect You and Your Family from Domestic Violence With these 4 Tipshttp://www.quickeasyfit.com/protect-you-and-your-family-from-domestic-violence-with-these-4-tips/ http://www.quickeasyfit.com/protect-you-and-your-family-from-domestic-violence-with-these-4-tips/#comments Fri, 01 Nov 2013 11:05:20 +0000 http://www.quickeasyfit.com/?p=6025 Domestic violence is something that can occur in any household, at any time. Domestic violence is a wide range of acts of harm that can occur between two members within the same household. Domestic violence can take on a wide variety of different forms, from obvious violence, to verbal abuse and repression. People who co-parent children, but do not live in the same household, are also subject to domestic violence. The following are four tips on how you can protect yourself and your family from domestic violence.

1. Get Away from a Heated Argument

Anyone who is having an altercation with another person within a household is vulnerable to an instance of domestic violence. Since emotions go awry and anger flares during arguments, it is best for one of the parties to get away. If stepping into another room does not seem feasible, then perhaps visiting a relative or friend will work. Both parties should have a cooling period, during which their blood pressures lower and they can think rationally.

2. Stay in Contact with Friends and Family Members

Most persons who suffer from cases of domestic violence are isolated from close friends and relatives. To minimize the risk of a domestic violence situation, one should always keep in touch with his or her support system at least once per day. Sending a simple text message can keep these people in the loop about what is going on. That way, they will know if they do not hear from the subject that something is wrong. Not hearing from the individual will prompt concerned parties to contact the authorities.

3. List all Protective Shelters

A person who is seeking to protect himself or herself from domestic violence should have a list of domestic violence shelters in the area. Knowing where to go to find help can save someone’s life. The individual should have the number and address of the facilities handy in a cell phone address book or document. If any acts of violence occur, the person should contact a shelter immediately to find refuge.

4. Call an Attorney

If the previously stated methods of protection do not work, a victim can always hire a reputable attorney for protection. A firm that specializes in domestic violence issues, such as The Law Office of Bradley R. Corbett, can help to keep a client and his or her assets protected. Make sure that you use a local attorney, such as a defense attorney near Temecula, so that you can get help as quickly as possible. No person should ever have to suffer in a domestic violence situation. If such occurs, a skilled attorney can see to it that the offender pays fines or spends time in jail, which can help to give justice to the offended party.

Can’t Find Your Keys? Video Games Can Helphttp://www.quickeasyfit.com/cant-find-your-keys-video-games-can-help/ http://www.quickeasyfit.com/cant-find-your-keys-video-games-can-help/#comments Wed, 23 Oct 2013 07:12:24 +0000 http://www.quickeasyfit.com/?p=5990 With Alzheimer’s currently reaching disease crisis levels, according to Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA), many seniors are trying to find unique ways to improve their memory and sharpen their brains. One surprising way to do this could be video games. Video games are an incredible way to increase a brain’s responsiveness and keep a mind engaged. This can be of fantastic use to the baby boomer generation, who are now postponing retirement more often, reports the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.

Games Can Reduce the Affects of Alzheimer’s

Many of the symptoms of mental decline are caused by lost or altered connections between neurons. Fast-paced and active games such as “Battlefield 4” can demand increased brain activity and thus be used to counter some of the effects of a disease such as Alzheimer’s or dementia. Puzzle games are an excellent way to use your logic skills and increase memory retention.

Next-Gen Consoles Are Easy to Use (and Popular)

If you’re intimidated by video games, don’t be. While PC games might be a little difficult to set up, the new generation of consoles are extremely easy to use. As long as you can play a DVD, you can play a game on a console. This might explain why almost 44 percent of the baby boomers and almost 70 percent of the Gen X-ers currently own a game console, according to Gamasutra. Gamers don’t need to be afraid of being ostracized for their new hobby. In fact, older gamers may find it a wonderful way to connect to their peers.

Games Also Improve Mental Health

Video games don’t just improve cognitive function, but also mental health and happiness, researchers from North Carolina State have found. Senior citizens who played video games were found to be much happier, suggesting that video games can increase a senior citizen’s overall well-being. Moreover, depression has been notoriously linked to mental degradation and memory loss by the scientific community. Video games may be able to counter memory loss on two fronts: by reducing depression and training a senior citizen’s brain directly.

It’s Backed By Science

Video games being good for your brain isn’t just a fun idea: it’s backed by multiple scientific studies. Scientific studies have shown that video games can increase cognitive function in older adults, according to studies highlighted on Nature.com, especially in the areas of multitasking. This isn’t just valuable for older individuals, it’s also an excellent training regimen for anyone within a professional industry that demands quick thinking.

While booting up your console might not feel like an educationally enlightening experience, many scientific resources are now saying that it’s good for your mind and your emotions. Next time someone asks you what you’re doing after a lengthy “Call of Duty” session, you can confidently tell them you’re improving your mental health and well-being. If they argue with you, you can cite the many studies and resources that show that you are increasing your cognitive skills, memory and emotional health while owning the other team.

5 Things That Need To Be Done Before Your Baby Makes Their Grand Appearancehttp://www.quickeasyfit.com/5-things-that-need-to-be-done-before-your-baby-makes-their-grand-appearance/ http://www.quickeasyfit.com/5-things-that-need-to-be-done-before-your-baby-makes-their-grand-appearance/#comments Wed, 23 Oct 2013 06:42:04 +0000 http://www.quickeasyfit.com/?p=5986 The arrival of a new baby is a time of great excitement, but it can also bring a large amount of stress and anxiety. A newborn will often bring normal activities in a household to a standstill, so it’s a good idea to make a number of arrangements in advance, which will make sure that both you and the house remain in good condition while the focus is put on the new child. Here is a look at the 5 things you should make sure are done before your trip to the hospital.

1. Prepare Yourself For Birth

When it comes to having a child, it is always worth it to get as much information as possible about the birth process. You will be able to acquire an enormous amount of information on this subject through books, the Internet, your friends who have had children, and family members. Birthing classes can also help you to understand the physical process of birthing a child and what you can do to actively facilitate the process. Many hospitals will also offer tours of their pediatrics area, which can help for you to get a full mental image of your child’s birth and everything that will be going on. When obtaining information, you are sure to find conflicting opinions on certain subjects, which makes it important that you trust yourself and your instincts. In the end, you know what is best for your baby.

2. Involve Your Spouse

Make sure to take the time to involve your spouse in the pre-birth planning. Small chores can be a good bonding time for you both to share your hopes and fears. These small and peaceful moments that you spend working together can help to strengthen your love and relationship before the storm of baby activities begin. If your spouse will be your birth partner, make sure that you share with them your plans and the knowledge that you have gained about the process. More than likely they are even more clueless and scared than you are, since most men simply do not have any idea of what to expect.

3. Prepare Your Family

Making household preparations covers a wide range of activities. If you have other children, you will need to prepare them for what will happen when the new baby arrives. A new presence in the home can be stressful for children, especially when this small baby is consuming all of your attention and energy. Make sure that you talk with your current child about what to expect, and try to introduce them to babies. Make sure that you involve the rest of your family and friends in this process by having them come and watch your child while you are gone giving birth.

4. Organize Your Home

You may want to give the house a good cleaning so that you don’t have to worry about housework for a while after the birth. A clean home will also reduce a large amount of the stress that comes with a newborn in the home. If you cannot clean the home on your own, have family and friends come and help, or hire a professional service complete the task. It is also important that you have everything organized within your home. Put the numbers of your primary care doctor, your favorite take-out restaurants, and your close family and friends in a single area that is easy to access.

5. Stock Up For The First Weeks

It’s also a good idea to stock your home with extra food, paper products, personal care items and other consumables for the first days after the baby arrives. Having these items on hand will prevent the need for those emergency trips to the store that so frequently occur in households. Also, make sure that you have diapers, plenty of clothes, and everything that the baby might need when they make their grand entrance into your home. If you have close friends and family in the area, ask if people would be willing to sign up for a meal schedule, which will allow for you to have a hot meal at least once a day for the first week or two after coming home.

These tips will allow you to concentrate on those special first days when a newborn joins your family, while helping to minimize fatigue and stress.

Things to Do with the Kids in Las Vegashttp://www.quickeasyfit.com/things-to-do-with-the-kids-in-las-vegas/ http://www.quickeasyfit.com/things-to-do-with-the-kids-in-las-vegas/#comments Wed, 16 Oct 2013 16:57:09 +0000 http://www.quickeasyfit.com/?p=5968 Things to Do With Kids in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is known for its casinos, wild parties, and impromptu wedding ceremonies. However, there are a number of family-friendly activities you can engage in during your Vegas vacation.

Consider these excursions as you’re preparing to take the kids to Las Vegas.

Chaos

The Chaos roller coaster at Circus Circus is an exciting ride that thrill-seeking children will love. However, your child must 48 inches or taller to ride. Riding Chaos is especially enjoyable with a group, so you may want to get in on the fun, too!

It costs between $5 and $8 per ride, but you’ll likely want to take advantage of all the rides and activities at the Adventuredome, where Chaos is located. Adventuredome passes are $16.95 for children between 33 and 47 inches tall; kids shorter than this can enter the park for free with a paying adult.

Discovery Children’s Museum

Vegas.com recommends the Discovery Children’s Museum when you’re taking a family trip to Las Vegas. The museum is three stories and features a number of interactive exhibits that teach kids about science, culture, and the arts in a creative way.

For instance, the Patent Pending exhibit allows children to create their own inventions, and Toddler Town is a play land within the museum that is especially for small children. Older children will enjoy Solve It! Mystery Town, which allows adolescents and preteens to investigate crimes and solve mysteries. Admission to the Children’s Museum is $12.

There are so many fascinating things for your children to learn at the museum.

Frog Hopper

This kid-friendly ride is located at Buffalo Bills in Primm, which is about half an hour from downtown Vegas. You’ll pay $30 for a full day of riding the Frog Hopper, or $22 for a half-day. Children must be at least three feet tall to get on the ride, which is significantly lower that the height requirement at most amusement parks.

The ride is 30 feet tall and is a free-fall. Children are safely strapped in a seven-person car that includes an adult seat. Riders are slowly raised to the top of the excursion, then dropped with hopping motions that are similar to a hopping frog. Your kids are sure to remember the ride for weeks after your Vegas vacation.

Sky Zone

Sky Zone is a wonderful activity that features wall-to-wall trampolines. Your children will have loads of fun jumping from one side of the Sky Mania gymnasium to the other, and you can book your time by the hour. There’s even a trampoline room for toddlers only, so your little ones can indulge in Sky Zone’s amenities safely.

An hour at Sky Zone is $15; you can also book 30 minutes for $12 or increments of 90 or 120 minutes $20 and $25, respectively.

These are just some of the attractions that will provide your children with a great time while in Vegas. Of course, you may find that you enjoy many of the rides and exhibits as well. Happy vacationing!

The Five First Aid Techniques that Every Household Should Knowhttp://www.quickeasyfit.com/the-five-first-aid-techniques-that-every-household-should-know/ http://www.quickeasyfit.com/the-five-first-aid-techniques-that-every-household-should-know/#comments Sat, 12 Oct 2013 01:41:15 +0000 http://www.quickeasyfit.com/?p=5960 Families take precautions by installing alarm systems, fire extinguishers and quality locks to protect from intrusion and the risks that come from smoke and fire. However, even though there is a higher likelihood of facing a minor or major medical emergency, many families do not have first aid training. Every family member of every household should begin to learn the basics of first aid as soon as possible. The training should continue until there is an ongoing confidence that the six techniques listed below can be dealt with automatically.

1. CPR

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation forces blood circulation through the brain and organs when the heart is not beating or is in a lethal arrhythmia. The old method of compressions and breaths has been replaced with rapid continuous compressions without artificial respiration or stopping to take a pulse. The new method is now universally taught from CPR Chicago, Illinois to Nome, Alaska. The new method also may increase the likelihood of a person being willing to perform CPR on a stranger since no mouth-to-mouth contact is needed.

2. Controlling Bleeding

An arterial bleed can cause death in less than two minutes, and there are many things around the home that can lead to a laceration or puncture of an artery. Modern first aid has many options to control bleeding including compression and hemostatic agents that can be poured into a wound to control major bleeding.

3. Treating Burns

Though the old tale of putting butter on a wound persists, those trained in first aid know that flowing cold water pulls the heat out of the tissues of minor burns, which helps prevent further cellular damage. Those trained in first aid also learn about the infection risks of burned tissues.

4. Minimizing Infection Risks for Small Cuts

Bumps, cuts and scrapes are a fact of life, especially in children. However, any time the skin is broken is an opportunity for infection. A healthy immune system is likely to keep infection at bay for a small cut not exposed to a highly infectious bacteria. However, even a tiny cut can become a serious infection. This is especially true in individuals with compromised circulation or immune systems such as in those with diabetes. First aid teaches proper wound dressing and infection control procedures.

5. Venom and Poisons

Everything from the venom of insect, spider and snake bites to ingesting or coming in contact with various poisons should be part of the repertoire of knowledge of family members trained in first aid. Touching a poison ivy plant may cause a mild to serious rash, but inhaling the smoke of plants being burned could cause death. A single bee sting could lead to anaphylaxis in those who are allergic. Plus, households are filled with chemicals and pesticides that can poison a person just through skin contact. Advanced first aid training teaches how to recognize and deal with these situations to save lives.

Out of all the precautionary protocols and other things a family engages in to stay safe, first aid training is the most useful. The knowledge, once acquired, is there for life. It can help any family member avoid medical emergencies as well as be able to deal with them if they arise. Having everyone in the family adequately trained in first aid helps to ensure there will always be someone to help if one or more family members fall victim to a medical emergency.

Addictions In Teens: 5 Facts You Need To Knowhttp://www.quickeasyfit.com/addictions-in-teens-5-facts-you-need-to-know/ http://www.quickeasyfit.com/addictions-in-teens-5-facts-you-need-to-know/#comments Tue, 08 Oct 2013 02:13:00 +0000 http://www.quickeasyfit.com/?p=5945 Addiction amongst teenage children is a frightening topic to discuss. Facts about addictions in teens are sobering, to say the least, but are necessary to discuss so that we are armed with information that could help them should they become addicted to drugs or alcohol. In this article, we will look at five facts you need to know about addictions in teens.

Many Start Using Young

Many teenage addicts actually first tried drugs or alcohol when they were merely twelve years of age. People who begin using drugs at an early age are at a greater risk for addiction than people who try drugs or alcohol at a later age, simply because they are less mature and often make rash, impulsive decisions.

Some Reasons Teens May Try Drugs or Alcohol

Teens feel immortal and invincible. They do not feel they are at risk for anything so they tend not to worry about becoming addicted. The thrill-seeking aspect of drugs is attractive to teens as well, so they may try drugs simply to test their limits and live on the edge. Another reason teens may try drugs is because of peer pressure and the fact that drugs and alcohol appear glamorous and attractive to them. They may try drugs as an attempt to fit in with a group of peers or to appear “cool” to others.

Addiction Could Be a Sign of an Underlying Issue

Many people, not just teens, abuse drugs or alcohol because they are seeking to forget about their life for a moment. Many addicts fight depression, anxiety and stress with drugs in order to escape these negative feelings. Addiction is very often and indicator that a person suffers with depression or another mental disorder.

Warning Signs of Addiction in Teens

Some warning signs that reveal addiction in teens include: they begin to get bad grades in school, they develop health problems, they have trouble with memory loss, they appear to be losing friends, they are less motivated, they have unpredictable mood swings, and they have decreased desire to do things they once enjoyed.

Communication is Key

Always keep the lines of communication open between you and your teen because this could potentially save his or her life. Reaffirm your love for the teen often and be sure she knows she can trust you and rely on you to help.

Now that you are armed with some tips about addiction in teens, you know what to look for if you suspect addiction and you know how important it is to always be on the lookout. Encourage treatment such as going to a facility for meth addiction detox, AA meetings, and other places that can help your teen if need be.
